Fondazione Zegna presents ALL’APERTO 2016, curated by Andrea Zegna and Barbara Casavecchia, with artists Alek O., Laura Pugno and Valentina Vetturi
In 2016, ALL’APERTO is working in close contact with the community of Trivero on projects by three artists: Alek O., Laura Pugno (in collaboration with Diogene Lab, Turin) and Valentina Vetturi. Relationships with the territory and schools marked all the previous ALL’APERTO projects but this year they’ve become even more important, in line with the Foundation’s numerous educational and training initiatives and in continuity with the values embodied in the philosophy of Ermenegildo Zegna.
Laura Pugno (1975, Trivero, Biella) is a holding a workshop, in October, for 3rd year middle school students entitled See you in the center because, writes the artist, “You don’t often see a town made up of 37 wards. With such a scattered community, one wonders what image young students have of their town”.
In the same month, Alek O. (1981, Buenos Aires, Argentina) is holding a workshop for some 1st year middle school students. They will produce a large collective composition in which, as invited by the artist, they will “forget the function of the initial object and concentrate on the variety of colors and patterns”.
At the end of the year, Valentina Vetturi (1979, Reggio Calabria) will produce a new edition of Alzheimer Cafè. The work is based on a collection of tunes sung or hummed by people with neurological disorders that affect their memory. In Trivero, the artist will record the voices of patients in the Alzheimer Center and then rework them.
