FAI Panorama Day: here’s what’s happening

Casa Zegna will be hosting various kinds of event, from music to activities for kids

Panorama Day, organized by FAIFondo Ambiente Italiano and Fondazione Zegna, is back on Sunday 15 September 2019. One of the sites hosting the prestigious celebration (now in its 6th edition) is the splendid Casa Zegna (under FAI patronage), which is also venue, till 13 October, to Padre e Figlio (Father and Son), an exhibition of works by Michelangelo Pistoletto and his father Ettore P. Olivero.

In Trivero Valdilana (Biella), Oasi Zegna will be hosting various initiatives for adults and kids, all enhanced by the spectacular beauty of our panoramas, with music provided by young players from Obiettivo Orchestra, a project by Filarmonica del Teatro Regio di Torino, and 1st Viola Enrico Carraro. The high point of the Day is a concert at 3 pm in Ermenegildo Zegna’s “secret garden”, a magical setting connecting the former home of the textiles entrepreneur to the eponymous Wool Mill. Here, the Filarmonica’s wind ensemble will perform music by Rossini, Gounod and Strauss.

Entitled Landscape in music at Zegna Wool Mill, the program starts in the morning with a walk suitable for all the family and led by nature guides and entitled From Conca to Brughiera (from 10.30 to 12.30: meet-up at Casa Zegna). From 11 am to 12 am, there’s a matinée in the Ermenegildo Zegna Garden - “Narration and listening” – a concert-lesson given by young musicians from the Filarmonica del Regio di Torino and their teachers. While from 11 am to 12 am and 12 am to 1 pm, at Casa Zegna, kids will be able to take part in Accordo in famiglia (Accord in the family), a workshop by voice specialist and singer Riccardo Ruggeri, who will direct a series of musical games with simple choral exercises designed to put all the family in harmony by using their voices.

The other workshop for kids, at 3.30 pm, is Andare al sodo, which will show them how to build houses and chairs with paper. And from 11 am to 6 pm it will be possible to visit the temporary exhibition Padre e Figlio and the permanent one Cent’anni d’eccellenza (A hundred years of excellence).

Those wishing to go to the concert must book in advance.
