Huge success by the exhibition on the history of our country’s fashion featuring a 1970 suit provided by Casa Zegna, the Group’s historical archive
“The Glamour of Italian Fashion. 1945-2014”, an exhibition running at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London till 27 July 2014, is in its last week. The history of Italian style, of Zegna and the other great Italian brands, seems to have won over the British and foreign visitors to London. Over 100,000 people have so far taken this opportunity to view some of the most beautiful examples of Italian fashion from the end of the 2nd world war to the present day.
Amongst the key people and enterprises who have helped write the enthralling history of Italian style over the years is Ermenegildo Zegna, which has lent the exhibition a 1970 pure silk suit, a garment that’s been enjoying high appreciation from both the critics and the public.
On 26 October, “The Glamour of Italian Fashion. 1945-2014” will embark on a tour taking in the Minneapolis Institute of Art (26 October 2014 – 4 January 2015), the Portland Art Museum (7 February – 3 May 2015) and the Frist Center for the Visual Arts in Nashville (5 June – 7 September 2015). In the words of the curators, “we are certain that this initiative will be able to repeat the success the exhibition had in London”.
