Partners and projects are selected on the basis of the transparency of their work and the possibility of checking their results and inspecting the places where projects are implemented. To ensure ethical standards and quality, organizations that receive funding must submit regular progress reporting and forecasting of results.
Depending on the nature of a project, Fondazione Zegna may make simple cash donations or provide development funds governed by the principle of self-sustainability. In the latter case, funds must be economically sufficient and available long enough to achieve the agreed objectives but without inducing demotivation or dependency in the beneficiaries.
The Foundation is result-oriented and geared to obtaining maximum benefits from the available resources. To this end, its lean management structure works in close cooperation with partner organizations.
