12 and 13 October 2019 see the return of the FAI Autumn Days. On 13 October, Fondazione Zegna and Oasi Zegna are organizing a calendar of art and culture events for everyone, kids included. From 10.30 to 17.00, the event entitled “Biella sotto i 1000 m” (Biella under 1,000 m) is offering guided visits to alpe Cascina Pilota: FAI volunteers will help participants discover what life is like in alpine pastures. It will be possible to watch milk being processed and there will be a market with tastings of local organic products.
At 15.30, Casa Zegna will host a Montessori-inspired workshop, “Costruiamo il paesaggio” (Let’s build the landscape), and a meeting for families, “Spazi e attività Montessori: per favorire l’autonomia in casa ogni giorno” (Montessori spaces and activities: in favor of autonomy at home everyday), curated by educationalist Annalisa Perino, who will also be presenting her Qui abita un bambino (Uppa edizioni).
“My book,” explains Annalisa Perino, “grew out of the idea of talking with parents about how to manage physical space, for example, and giving them practical tips on rules to apply – limits, freedom, autonomy – in that micro community we call family. I base myself on the principles of Maria Montessori and apply them, with a very simple and practical approach, to each room in the home. I invented four families and put the parents in a series of typical situations, to see how to deal with them”.
At Casa Zegna, from 10.00 to 18.00, visitors will have a last opportunity to see Padre e Figlio (Father and Son), an exhibition of work by Michelangelo Pistoletto and his father Ettore P. Olivero. The permanent exhibition entitled Cent’anni di eccellenza (A hundred years of excellence) will also be open.
How to reach Cascina Pilota: leave your car at Caulera, in the tarmacked car park on the Panoramica Zegna road, and walk along an unsurfaced road for around 10 minutes. There is also a shuttle bus operating between the car park and Cascina Pilota.
