The story of a winter resort."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In the 1940s, the Biella industrialist <strong>Ermenegildo Zegna<\/strong> launched a project to develop the <strong>mountain<\/strong> landscape around <strong>Trivero<\/strong> by means of a large scale forestation plan and the construction of the Panoramic road. His wide-reaching <strong>philanthropic vision<\/strong> is explored in an exhibition entitled<strong>Bielmonte: the mountain that wasn\u2019t there. Storia di una localit\u00e0 invernale&#8221;,<\/strong>featuring a chronologically arranged selection of previously unseen documentation including technical plans, models, images, advertising, videos and testimonies of famous sporting events such as those associated with the Valanga Azzurra in 1976 and 1977, and the KL (chilometro lanciato) competitions in 1998 and 1999. Today Bielmonte is at the heart of the Oasi Zegna, having a <strong>ski facility<\/strong> with 20 km of downhill slopes, 20 km of cross country trails and fresh snow slopes and a 50 km network of snowshoe routes.
