Flower Landscapes. Flowers. Fabrics. Recipes.

From 17th May to 28th June 2015, every Sunday

Fabrics, clothes, accessories, books, objects, images, flavors. All linked by a common thread: the explosion of colors and patterns in the materials in the Zegna Archive – Heberlein Collection. The “Flower Landscapes” exhibition will open at Casa Zegna, Trivero (Biella), on 16 May to show the public for the very first time a selection from the precious textile samples collection consisting of over 2,200 volumes acquired and re-organized by Zegna Group.

The archive binders laid out along the exhibition path designed by Maria Luisa Frisa will interact with day-to-day objects featuring floral decorations, with creations and patterns inspired by the botanical world but above all with mouth-watering recipes that use aromatic herbs, flowers and fruits from Biella’s hills and mountains.

“Flower Landscapes are the flowers printed on the Heberlein fabrics: realistic, abstract, graphic, decorative,” explains Maria Luisa Frisa, designer and curator of the exhibition, “but they’re also real flowers we can see in the landscape in Oasi Zegna. The ones that Ermenegildo Zegna planted along the Panoramica road in a project that shaped the landscape along the route and the ones that grow wild along the paths and mark the passing seasons for us. Flower Landscapes is a sort of playlist linked to the continuously playing tape of our contemporary visual culture”.

On the opening day, 16 May, it will be possible to attend a cooking workshop for children from 6 to 12 held by Mina Novello, an expert in traditional Piedmont cuisine and author of Oasi Zegna’s as yet unpublished flower-based recipes.

The exhibition is open to the public free of charge on the day of the opening and the first Sunday of every month. See you then!
